Dr. Leo Powers graduated from Ellsworth High school in Western Wisconsin in 1976. He attended undergraduate college at UW Eau Claire, and graduated from Chiropractic College at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in December of 1982. He practiced in Oklahoma for 5 years before relocating to Wisconsin to be closer to family. He has been in practice at 2585 Post Road in Plover, WI since 1988.
Dr. Powers studied the technique of Diversified and Gonstead Adjusting. He has an X-Ray machine on premises to help diagnose fractures, abnormal findings, along with spinal curvatures and subluxation patterns. He is also a National Boards Diplomat. He took the 100-hour accredited course in Applied Kinesiology while at Northwestern, and started using Kinesiotaping in 2004. Applied Kinesiology goes well with diversified adjusting as this technique can adjust all the articulation of the body except the head. It also works on adjusting bones by working on muscles such as the 5 triad of health which includes trigger point therapy.
Dr. Powers also started to study SOT (Sacro Occipital Technique) in 1999. SOT is a technique that focusses on balancing the cranium with the pelvis. This can improve the normal flow of CSF (CerebroSpinal Fluid). This CSF bathes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves of the body. He has a strong interest in helping people with both simple and difficult conditions. He has spent an extraordinary amount of time studying anatomy and learning how to restore the mechano-receptors in the extremities to the brain.
“I do my best to help every patient who walks through my door.” ~Dr. Leo Powers~
